The Merlerault children's center: an example for the region
The new Jeanne-Morin school in Merlerault (Orne) has been in service since the start of the September 2020 school year.
Relocated due to the technological risk protection plan (PPRT) linked to the proximity of the Antargaz gas depot, the new Jeanne-Morin school in Merlerault opened its doors at the start of the September 2020 school year.
It is rather a childhood center since the site brings together the nursery school, the leisure center for children from 3 to 11 years old (even for teenagers) and the relay of itinerant and intercommunal childminders (Ramii) , a place of information, meetings and exchanges at the service of parents, childminders and early childhood professionals."Parents and future parents can receive free advice and information on all reception modes ”.
Since this start of the school year, the catering service, home-made, has also welcomed for lunch, the pupils of the Ernest-Millet primary school in Nonant-le-Pin, i.e.around 80 children.
A great success
Parents, teachers, and agents appreciate this new site, despite some small imperfections: “the courtyard too high; the parking lot too small at the exit of the school with vehicles parked on the road to Montmarcé, there was enough land for a row more Dangerous also for children coming from the Windmill, lack of pedestrian crossing and "school" sign and perhaps orange flashing light, because lack of visibility towards Nonant-le-Pin ", regret some parents.
