In Colombelles, an early childhood centre and 23 housing units will be built in the city centre.
A childcare center and 23 housing units ranging from T2 to T4 will be built on Place François-Mitterand, in the heart of Colombelles, near Caen (Calvados).
Near Caen (Calvados), the City of Colombelles and the company IBS (Immobilière Basse Seine) signed on Friday 26 June 2020 a building permit application for the construction of a new building on Place François-Mitterrand, in the heart of the city centre.
” Ideally located close to shops and schools “
This construction is part of the finalization of the ANRU (urban renewal program) operation started in 2004. The building will include 23 housing units (3 T2, 15 T3 and 5 T4) including garage, at prices ranging from $126,000 to $210,000, intended for home ownership.
On the ground floor, it will include a Pôle Petite Enfance, a future municipal public structure ideally located close to shops, schools and public facilities, says Mayor Marc Pottier.
One place, many services
The Pôle Petite Enfance, which covers an area of nearly 500 m2, is an innovative project, developed after an analysis of the area, designed as a resource centre for families and for children under three years old, as Stéphanie Dalmasso, Director of Childhood and Youth, explains:
It will bring together on the same site: a multi-crèche reception centre with a capacity of 30 places, the RAM (Relais des Assistantes maternelles), an information and orientation point to inform families about the different types of childcare available in the commune, and a place to accompany parents, as well as a second-hand shop dedicated to early childhood.
Opening planned for autumn 2022
In a rapidly growing territory, the municipality of Colombelles wishes to offer parents of young children the opportunity to live well as parents, by simplifying procedures and facilitating access to childcare.
This project will be made possible thanks to co-financing with the CAF (Caisse d’allocations familiales), the Calvados Departmental Council and with the contribution of State allocations within the framework of the Urban Policy. The opening is planned for the beginning of the academic year 2022.
